We loved this Day of the Dead Wedding. Yoco is a good friend of mine! She is also the owner and wedding planner at Pure Serendipity Events! She is also a leader in The Rising Tide Society. I was lucky enough to photograph her very very unique and special los angeles backyard wedding! As far as her groom to be was concerned-this day was his birthday. And while he may have suspected a surprise birthday party, little did he know of the many surprises to come. Cristian’s favorite holiday is Day of The Dead, Día de Muertos, and Yoconda made sure that there was a face painter for the surprises and fun to come. Only a handful of wedding guests knew and there was not a dry eye in the house when the true plans were announced during a special marriage proposal by Yoco to her beloved Cristian. And while he immediately accepted, since he had already proposed many times himself, Yoco had one more surprise in store-they were to be married that day! And she suddenly transformed the backyard party to a beautiful wedding site with gorgeous flower centerpieces and show stopping floral altar designed by herself. The groom was secreted away to his awaiting tux and the bride changed into her magnificent gown. Their two children stood by their side and their entire families cried and rejoiced at this very special day! Their wedding cake was topped by their favorite characters from The Book of Life movie. Their wedding vows reflected their love of music.
